Shaping The Future Of Heart Research

Introducing the Cardiovascular Regeneration Group led by Dr. Carmine Gentile at the Heart Research Institute (HRI)!

Dr. Gentile, a global expert in 3D bioprinting and stem cells, is driving revolutionary research in cardiovascular disease (CVD), focusing on myocardial infarction and heart failure. The group pioneers bioengineered “mini-hearts,” mirroring human heart behavior. These hold promise for predicting drug effects, modeling diseases, and potentially offering long-term alternatives to heart transplants.

At HRI, the focus is personalised medicine—treating CVD using mini-hearts from stem cells has the potential to open new research pathways. This promises improved outcomes and opens doors to future trials and interventions. Dr. Gentile’s impressive journey includes roles at HRI, University of Sydney, UTS, and a fellowship at Harvard Medical School in 2016, contributing to innovative in-vitro models using mini-hearts.

Your support in our raffle fuels these pioneering efforts. Join us in shaping a future where research transforms into solutions, saving lives and moving towards a world free from cardiovascular disease.
